Discover the Art Museums – Free Guided Tours in English

From October to December 2026, the Latvian National Museum of Art invites members of Asian communities living in Latvia to take part in Discover the Art Museums – a series of free guided tours offering an opportunity to explore five different museum venues in Riga.

The programme is organised as part of the project Community Engagement in the Interpretation of the LNMA Asian Art Collection (Project No. PMIF/13.3./2025/1/10), which aims to promote the integration of people from South, East and Southeast Asian countries living in Latvia and to strengthen intercultural dialogue.

Museums are not only places to discover art and cultural heritage – they can also become spaces for meeting, conversation and sharing experiences. Through the Discover the Art Museums programme, participants will have the opportunity to get to know the Latvian National Museum of Art and its diverse venues, collections and stories.

All guided tours will be held in English and are free of charge. Advance registration is required, and each tour is limited to 20 participants.

Discover, meet and experience

Each museum tells a different story. Together, the five visits offer an opportunity to discover Latvian and international art, decorative arts and design, sculpture and the creative lives of artists, while also getting to know museums as welcoming spaces for learning, conversation and cultural exchange.

The guided tours are an opportunity to explore the collections in an informal atmosphere, ask questions, exchange impressions and meet other participants.
