The Israel State Medal

The Embassy of Israel in Latvia has honored the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design with a special award – the Israel State 70th Anniversary Medal.

The medal is dedicated to the symbol of independence in Israel – the brothers graphic designers Maxim and Gabriel Shamir. The Latvian-born brothers emigrated to Tel Aviv in 1935.

From February 2, 2018 – April 2, 2018, the exhibition “Independence” of the work by brothers Shamir was displayed at the National Library of Latvia.
