Opening time:
Yoga Mornings at the Museum
Following the great response in previous years, the Latvian National Museum of Art, in collaboration with the yoga studio “Jivamukti Yoga Riga”, is inviting visitors for the third summer in a row to take part in Yoga Mornings at the Museum. Held in the museum’s main building (1 Jaņa Rozentāla Square, Riga), these sessions offer an opportunity every Thursday to begin the day in a calm and harmonious way, surrounded by the inspiration of art.
The opening class of the new season will take place on Friday, June 19, 2026, in anticipation of International Yoga Day. The proceeds from the opening class will be directed to the LNMM social program “Nāc muzejā!” to promote the development of an inclusive society, understanding and cooperation. The participation fee at the opening is 15 EUR.
From now on, yoga classes will take place once a week throughout the summer – on Thursday mornings before the museum opens to visitors. In the closed museum premises, in the presence of works of art, participants will be able to strengthen their bodies, calm their minds and consciously take care of their well-being. After the class, participants will have the opportunity to visit the museum’s permanent exhibition.
Our goal is to reach a broader audience and offer an inspiring opportunity to dedicate time to oneself. The museum environment helps visitors step away from the rush of everyday life, reduce stress, and reconnect with their bodies in a creative and peaceful atmosphere, which encourages being present in the here and now,”
emphasises Vineta Klotiņa, Head of the yoga studio.
The sessions will be led by certified instructors from Jivamukti Yoga Riga. No previous yoga experience or special level of physical fitness is required. Each session will begin with a short introduction and attunement practice, followed by moderate-intensity exercises, and conclude with relaxation and meditation. Participants are encouraged to bring a bottle of water and, if they wish, their own yoga mat.
Thanks to the support of Abava and Kalve Coffee, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy complimentary refreshments on special occasions.
