Nick Brandt
Nick Brandt is a British photographer. His “The Day May Break” series is an ongoing global project that portrays people and animals impacted by environmental degradation and destruction. The animals he works with can never be released back into the wild. As a result, it is safe for humans to be close to them, photographed together in the same frame simultaneously. Chapter One of “The Day May Break” was photographed in Zimbabwe and Kenya in 2020 and has been exhibited in museums and galleries worldwide.
In 2010, Brandt co-founded Big Life Foundation, a non-profit in Kenya / Tanzania that employs more than 350 local rangers protecting almost 650,000 hectares of the Amboseli / Kilimanjaro ecosystem.
The exhibition shows five photos from the series “The Day May Break”: Thomas and Emma, Zimbabwe, Teresa and Najin, Kenya, Halima, Abdul and Frida, Kenya, Kuda and Sky II, Zimbabwe, and Patrick and Flamingos, Zimbabwe.
