STARDUST

From November 28, 2026, to February 21, 2027, the exhibition “STARDUST” by artist Laimdota Malle will be on view in the Cupola Hall of the main building of the Latvian National Museum of Art (1 Jaņa Rozentāla Square, Riga).

The exhibition “STARDUST” explores life as a continuous process of rewriting — an unstable form emerging in the tension between potential and collapse. It is conceived as a multi-layered system in which materials, bodies, and structures are in a constant state of transformation. Within this environment, excessive growth and gradual disintegration, control and vulnerability, chaos and self-organization coexist.

Here, life appears as a temporary configuration: matter organizes itself into a particular form only to dissolve and reassemble into another. It is a constant process of change driven by adaptation and survival. Life is defined by both its indeterminate potential and the ever-present possibility of non-realization. The works reveal development as a process in which creation and disappearance occur simultaneously, creating a space where existence remains perpetually open to transformation.
