Exhibition after hours:
Snow melts. Japanese art

We invite you to experience the exhibition ‘Snow Melts. Japanese Art’ after hours, from 19:00 to 21:00, when art, space, and atmosphere come together in a single, nuanced experience.

The evening’s musical dramaturgy will be curated by DJ Henri Lakis, who, in a programme created especially for this occasion, will bring together diverse musical directions – ranging from traditional and classical sounds to jazz, ambient, and experimental music. Visitors will also have the opportunity to engage with museum representatives and learn more about the works presented in the exhibition.

The exhibition "Snow Melts. Japanese Art" highlights the presence of spring within Japanese culture, where the rhythm of nature, the cycles of human life, and an aesthetic perception of the world intertwine to form a unified and symbolically rich experience. On view are works from the Japanese art collection of the Latvian National Museum of Art, including colourful ukiyo-e woodblock prints, lacquerware, as well as porcelain and ceramic objects.

Admission to the event is with a ticket purchased at the museum ticket office or via the “Mobilly” app.
