In-person Meeting Held in Ljubljana as Part of the “Talking Heads” Project

From 3rd until 5th June 2025, representatives of the Latvian National Museum of Art travelled to Ljubljana, Slovenia for an in-person meeting held within the framework of the Talking Heads project (Project No. 101174331 – CREA-CULT-2024-COOP), co-funded by the European Union’s Creative Europe programme. This event was part of the second work package of the project with the main theme "Empowering cultural and creative sectors by fostering skills development and ethical use of technologies".

During the programme, partners from Ukraine, Georgia, North Macedonia, Greece, Slovenia and Latvia gathered in Ljubljana to discuss the project's further development and to highlight topics related to digital skills development in the cultural and creative sectors, with a particular focus on the ethical use of technologies.

The meeting included a discussion session titled “Understanding the Digital Landscape in Culture”, during which participants addressed key topics such as the integration of artificial intelligence and digital media into cultural processes, audience engagement through digital tools, and examples of interdisciplinary collaboration in digital project implementation.

Participants also took part in the workshop “Artificial Intelligence: Empowering the Cultural Sector in the Digital Age”, which explored the potential of AI in cultural institutions. Participants gained practical experience in using AI-powered tools for information gathering and presentation, specifically through the Gamma platform.

On the final day of the programme, project participants explored the topic of ethics, inclusion, and human-centred artificial intelligence in a cultural context. The lectures included current EU guidelines on the responsible use of technology and were followed by a workshop on inclusive design principles, the creation of digital experiences, and the ethical challenges that cultural organisations may encounter when applying AI.

The concluding talk “Tools and Platforms for Digitisation and Cultural Innovation” introduced participants to various digital solutions, with special emphasis on the Wondercut application for creating interactive content. The lecture was complemented by a practical session demonstrating the use of this tool in the context of cultural projects.

To round off the visit, participants explored the City Museum of Ljubljana, gaining insight into its permanent exhibition, interactive communication strategies, and educational programme offers.

The project "Talking Heads – Conversation with the art from the past" will be established under the Grant Agreement No. 101174331, funded by the Creative Europe Program (CREA-CULT-2024-COOP). The project will be implemented over a period of 36 months starting from 01.11.2024."
