Baiba Uburģe has been awarded the French National Order of Arts and Letters (l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres)

On November 3 the French Ambassador to Latvia, His Excellency Manuel Lafont Rapnouil, presented Baiba Uburģe, the keeper of the LNMM Foreign Decorative and Applied Art Collection, with the French Order of Arts and Literature (l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres) for her long-term cooperation with French cultural heritage institutions, research work and realized exhibitions.

Baiba Uburģe, Keeper of the Foreign Decorative and Applied Arts Collection at the Art Museum RIGA BOURSE, has made a significant contribution to promoting the recognition of French art in Latvia, as well as fostering collaboration with renowned museums such as the Musée d’Orsay, the Centre Pompidou, and the Picasso Museum in Antibes.

At the ceremony hosted by the French Embassy, state decorations were also awarded to Juris Dambis, long-time Head of the National Heritage Board, and Kristaps Zariņš, Rector of the Art Academy of Latvia. Congratulations to all the recipients of the order!
