The Anatomy of Connection
From 6 to 15 August 2025, the Conference Hall of the main building of the Latvian National Museum of Art (Jaņa Rozentāla laukums 1, Riga) will host the Art Museum Youth Club’s pop-up exhibition “The Anatomy of Connection,” which explores how interpersonal relationships and self-discovery foster character transformation through artistic expression.
In the exhibition, members of the Art Museum Youth Club (AMYC) and young artists they invited interpret the anatomy of connection. The guiding theme of the display prompts reflection on seemingly unfamiliar individuals, loved ones, and the most familiar of all — the inner world. The selection of works invites visitors to contemplate the dual role of the individual within a community — as both a creator of impressions and memories, and as a recipient and interpreter of external stimuli.
This exhibition is the final project of the Youth Club’s 7th season, applying the knowledge and skills gained over the academic year. The AMYC is a free educational programme for school and university-aged youth (15+), who are interested in culture and art, want to explore behind the scenes of the museum, and feel a calling to actively participate in Latvia’s art scene. The activities of the Youth Club’s 7th season are supported by the State Culture Capital Foundation, and the exhibition opening event is supported by “Skrīveru saldumi” and “Manilla”.
The exhibition is open to the public free of charge from Tuesday to Friday during museum opening hours.
