Japanese Culture Day

Spring in Japan is not merely experienced in nature but shared collectively, therefore, we invite you to enjoy a sense of togetherness and discover Japanese calligraphy, try origami, and explore traditional Japanese games.

During the event, participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Practice using the "four treasures" of Japanese calligraphy – inkwell, ink, brush, and paper - as well as try your hand at writing Japanese characters;
  • Try making paper dolls using origami;
  • Enjoy a Japanese traditional New Year’s game Fukuwarai which is a mix of charm, humour, and a little bit of chaos. Fukuwarai is a game where players try to place facial features – eyes, eyebrows, nose, and mouth – onto a blank face while blindfolded.

The event will start at 11:00. You can participate at any time you wish until 14:00.

The event is hosted by the Embassy of Japan.
