An Afternoon of Music:
Italian Melodies in the Atrium: Pianist Matīss Žilinskis
The Art Museum RIGA BOURSE offers a special gift to the visitors of the exhibition “Palazzo Madama. Italian Art and Craftsmanship from the 6th to the 19th Century” – musical afternoons in the museum atrium. This is an opportunity to linger in the museum before or after viewing the exhibition, to share impressions, enjoy music, and spend a leisurely Saturday afternoon in a pleasant atmosphere.
The young and promising pianist Matīss Žilinskis represents the fourth generation of musicians in his family –his great-grandfather was the renowned composer Arvīds Žilinskis. The rich musical heritage, cultivated both within and beyond his family, has shaped and deepened his artistic perspective. His performance style is marked by a distinctive jazz pianist's touch — free, expressive, and with a sensuous connection to the piano.
