Audio tour:
Līga Purmale. The Garden of Past Pleasures
To make the experience of the exhibition more accessible, the Latvian National Museum of Art has produced an audio guide and detailed audio descriptions for several paintings.
The exhibition Līga Purmale. The Garden of Past Pleasures, which is on view in the right wing galleries of the 2nd floor of the main building of the Latvian National Museum of Art from 7 February to 10 August 2025, is dedicated to the artist's creative career of fifty years.
The exhibition is thematically divided into six sections which trace different periods in the artist's work. The exhibition's audio guide gives visitors the opportunity to get to know these periods in the form of short descriptions. For one painting in each period, a detailed audio description is available to assist everyone, including people with visual impairment, in engaging more fully with the works of art.
The audio comments are voiced by the curator of the exhibition Agnese Zviedre.
The route is available for free on the museum's mobile app and SoundCloud website. Visitors are invited to download the mobile app for free on their smartphones. You need your own mobile phone and headphones to use the audio guide at the exhibition, but you can also listen to these stories in any other place with an internet connection.
Descriptions and audio files are available under the headlines.
